Giuseppe Di Mare, born in Augusta,
received a degree in piano at the Conservatory of San Pietro in Maiella
di Napoli, and under the expert tutelage of the pianist Rodolfo Caporali
excelled in Organ and Organ Composition at Santa Cecilia Conservatory
in Rome with the guidance of Maestri Bellandi and Germani and has
studied Composition with Maestri Bartolucci e Tosatti. He has held
many concerts throughout Italy, and with great success has performed
in Europe, Asia Minor, Asia, all around the Mediterranean countries
and Africa. |
He is the "honoris causa" organist of Maria Ausiliatrice Church in San Marino, San Girolamo Church in Rimini, Sant'Antonio Basilica in Istanbul, Turkey, Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima, Portugal, the Cathedral in Augusta and the Danish Lutheran Church Ansgarkirken in Copenaghen, a historical building. The concerts of the Maestro are covered by most important Italian dailies and weekly magazines, RAI-Italian television, Vatican Radio, and numerous Italian and foreign radio and television stations, which have broadcast live or recorded concerts. As far as his works, the organist Di Mare has recorded for Italian Television a program with baroque and pre-baroque music and has produced on video cassette in Saint Francis Basilica in Assisi, the Concert "From Nazareth to the Resurrection", his original creation for the Serafico Institute, (also available in CD and audio cassette), which he dedicated to the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, who granted him a Special Audience in June 1999. The same concert was performed by the maestro at the Basilica in Istanbul, in the presence of "His Holiness Bartolomeo I- Ecumenical Patriarch". Recently, the President of Italy Ciampi nominated him "Commendatore dell'Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana". Besides his concert activities, the organist Giuseppe Di Mare teaches and composes. (He won 1st Place in Composition at the III Mondial Musical Mariano Competition held in Frascati, Rome, 2001) |
